In case of an emergency, the ability to interact with employees and Fordham University community members in dispersed locations is important. Fordham IT provides tools to all University staff and faculty so they can continue communications and maintain productivity from remote locations.
Equipment Loans for Faculty and Staff
Faculty and staff who need to borrow equipment (such as laptops or a hotspot) for their remote office should contact IT Customer Care (see below). Equipment available for loan.

Cisco Conference Now
For teleconferences with up to 6 callers (host and 5 guests). This is available to everyone with a Fordham extension.
For teleconferences with 7 or more callers. To request an account, submit a service request in the Tech Help tab at My.Fordham or contact IT Customer Care.
Single Number Reach
Receive calls to your Fordham extension on your mobile or personal phone. View our Single Number Reach Guide.
Cisco Mobile Remote Access (MRA)
Make and receive calls outside of the office using your Fordham extension with the Jabber app on your smartphone or computer, or on your physical Fordham Cisco phone.
Instructions for a Jabber Implementation
Do not use any remote equipment to dial 911. Use a landline or your regular cell phone number to dial 911 so the emergency dispatchers can correctly identify your location.
All active Fordham University employees and students are eligible to use Zoom for video and audio conferencing.
Virtual Private Network (VPN)
The Virtual Private Network is a secure connection from any public location to the University’s private network, providing access to University-issued application software. See Virtual Private Network for more information and a list of services.

Know the options: Departments should carefully review and explore the wide variety of possible remote working options and technical arrangements (described below) and address potential problem areas before authorizing a telecommuting agreement. You and your supervisor should contact IT Customer Care at 718-817-3999 or x13999 on campus to discuss needs and options.
Meeting expectations and standards A remote worker is expected to maintain the same standards at their virtual office as they would at their designated on-campus office. They are also expected to abide by all Fordham University policies, guidelines, and ethical practices.
