The Future of Business Education
With Academic and Industry Perspectives
The Gabelli School Centennial Celebration Virtual Conference
Thursday, October 1, 2020
The business world experiences constant technological and generational changes, and business schools need to adapt just as quickly, if not quicker, to prepare students for a constantly changing economic world. As we all face the current COVID-19 Pandemic, it is clear that both the business world and business schools will emerge from this pandemic with a new normal. But what will that new normal look like? How do we prepare students for jobs that we don’t yet know will exist? The answer is preparing for what we do know yet educating students to be agile, sustainable thinkers and doers who are able to quickly adapt to changing environments and needs.
The Gabelli School of Business celebrates its centennial year in 2020. In celebration of this monumental occasion, it is hosting a Centennial Celebration Conference on the Future of Business Education virtually with its new state of the art Fordham University London Centre to engage with colleagues in Europe and beyond. This conference will highlight Fordham’s London Centre as a strategic centre for strengthening and growing academic and professional relationships in the UK and Europe, enhance student experiences, grow collaborative research, and promote a future sustainable workforce.
The conference will explore how the future of business education can prepare students for the workforce of the future by examining what issues industry faces when searching for talent, what skills industry looks for in graduates, what innovative teaching opportunities can prepare students, and how engaging partnerships can be developed with organisations to educate future leaders.
